Kit De has been respectfully making world-class tattoos in Australia and overseas for over 17 years. Drawing influence from the traditional Irezumi method of freehand directly onto skin, his expertise and efficiency are unparalleled.
After completing a recent working residency and hiking trip through both metropolitan and rural Japan, he has returned to Australia with a newfound enthusiasm for the art and traditions which he hopes to carry in his work.
Kit has been a friend and respected colleague of Westside Tattoo Brisbane for over a decade and we are proud to have him as a resident artist of the highest regard.
His work is known worldwide to be strong and bold, embodying the true essence and power of the subject matter and equally as importantly - naturally flowing background which works to the body contours. This is something that cannot be achieved with fully-stencilled work, yet Kit accomplishes the required flow effortlessly through careful assessment of the client’s physique, personal tastes and parameters.
Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, surfing, travel and valuable time spent with his family.
In addition to Horimono which he practices with the highest skill, Kit is also proficient in Western Traditional, Script, Black and Grey and is more than happy to work within the time-frame and budget of any walk-in request.
